Launching in January 2022!

The Giving Gallery is a platform for artists to sell their art and share their mental health story. Art sale proceeds are split between the artist and a partnered mental health charity, offering a unique way to finance mental health nonprofits through the art market.

We have been re-developing our site during COVID to improve the art selling experience for artists.

How it Started

Amanda Lipp had the idea while she was a patient at a psychiatric hospital during college. A nurse gave her a box of crayons and she began art therapy. This changed everything. After Amanda was discharged, she began auctioning her crayon art and raising thousands of dollars for suicide prevention programs. She wondered how this concept could reach other artists: to sell art with purpose. The Giving Gallery was born.

History

We launched on Giving Tuesday: November 27, 2017. Hundreds of artists from around the world have signed up to sell their art and share their story for mental health. We are partnered with Mental Health America and other nonprofits to receive a percentage of sale proceeds. We experienced challenges maintaining the site during COVID and have been re-developing our site during COVID to improve the art selling experience for artists.
